Apr\u00e8s 23 ans de service chez Rolls-Royce Canada et Siemens, Colin Adams a pris sa retraite le 1er septembre 2022. Colin \u00e9tait un ancien membre du comit\u00e9 de n\u00e9gociation 2468-RRC et du comit\u00e9 des griefs 2468-Siemens. Il a \u00e9galement occup\u00e9 le poste de secr\u00e9taire-tr\u00e9sorier du 2468 depuis 2015; il a \u00e9t\u00e9 remplac\u00e9 par Daren Legault. Colin a fourni une br\u00e8ve auto-biographie :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

J’ai commenc\u00e9 ma carri\u00e8re professionnelle le 5 septembre 1978, en tant qu’apprenti t\u00f4lier\/cuivreur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apr\u00e8s quatre ans, j’ai \u00e9t\u00e9 plac\u00e9 dans le d\u00e9partement de maintenance et de fabrication de l’usine Derby de Sinfin. Je me suis port\u00e9 volontaire un temps pour rejoindre l’instrumentation pour le d\u00e9veloppement du V2500.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

J’ai quitt\u00e9 RR, lorsqu’une indemnit\u00e9 de d\u00e9part m’a \u00e9t\u00e9 offerte pour suivre une autre voie. Apr\u00e8s quelques petites entreprises, j’ai \u00e9t\u00e9 embauch\u00e9 par Rotadata, une entreprise relativement petite qui avait d’\u00e9normes contrats \u00e0 Derby et ailleurs dans le monde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rotadata est principalement de l’instrumentation et j’ai travaill\u00e9 avec une foule hautement qualifi\u00e9e et plus \u00e2g\u00e9e que celle \u00e0 laquelle j’\u00e9tais habitu\u00e9e. J’ai eu la chance de recevoir des cours de techniques d’instrumentation par des hommes de 30 ans mon a\u00een\u00e9. encore viables et utiles aujourd’hui,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prenant beaucoup de ce que j’avais appris, j’ai \u00e9t\u00e9 envoy\u00e9 \u00e0 Berlin pour aider les Allemands avec le moteur de d\u00e9veloppement BRR710 et BRR715. De retour en Angleterre je n’\u00e9tais pas content et j’ai donn\u00e9 libre cours \u00e0 mon CV sur internet, Alastair McFarlane m’a appel\u00e9 un soir pour me proposer un poste \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le moteur Trent avait des probl\u00e8mes de combustion et je suis rest\u00e9 jusqu’\u00e0 ma retraite le mois dernier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
