Following the introduction of several unpopular bills by the CAQ government, unions across the province rallied in Montreal against one in particular, Bill 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who really benefits from Bill 3?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winners:
\uf0fc Employers (more power, less union resistance)
\uf0fc Accounting firms ($25 million per year)
\uf0fc The CAQ government (weakening of a counter-balance)
\uf0fc The business community (political return on investment)<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The losers:
\uf0fc Workers (less protection)
\uf0fc Unions (resources diverted, weakened democracy)
\uf0fc Civil society (loss of a counter-balance)
\uf0fc Quebec democracy (interference with freedom of association)

Bill 3 claims to free workers from their unions, when in reality it seeks to free employers from union resistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The best defense against this doctrine? Critical analysis, facts, and mobilization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is why it is essential to publicly expose this dangerous political strategy and to mobilize against Bill 3. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The QFL Regional Council adopted a declaration of solidarity and a call to action for November 29, under the theme \u201cL\u2019hiver sera chaud\u201d. With this declaration, we are denouncing the setbacks and attacks by the CAQ government targeting workers, reaffirming our support for ongoing struggles in several sectors, and emphasizing our intention to make the QFL in Montreal a genuine rallying point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
